Darryl Irick is a career transportation professional with more than 30 years of experience and has distinguished himself as an effective and progressive industry leader. He believes that a cornerstone of leadership is providing a unifying vision for an organization and communicating that vision effectively.
Mr.Irick started his career as a NYC Transit Bus Operator where he developed his passion for public service. That passion has served as the foundation of his customer-centric managing philosophy. To that end, he earned positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of transportation management, operations planning, and service delivery. In 2011, Mr. Irick was appointed Chief Executive of North America’s largest Bus and Paratransit operation – moving over two million daily customers while overseeing the transportation needs of approximately 160,000 paratransit registrants throughout the greater New York City area. Mr. Irick assisted in an infrastructure maintenance backlog reduction, improving productivity of construction crews, reducing weekend diversion and disruption to passengers, and on-time-pickup improved from 70% to 85%. Additionally, during 2017, Mr. Irick was asked to serve as Interim President of New York City Transit and played a pivotal role in the development of the Subway Action Plan.
