Mike Glikin specializes in bus and rail scheduling, operations planning and labor relations. Mr. Glikin has over 40 years of professional experience including postings with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Tri-State Regional Planning Commission, Bee Line system in Westchester County, New York, and the Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB). At MTDB, Mr.Glikin was an operations planner implementing the San Diego Trolley, the first modern US light rail system. Mr. Glikin also worked as Director of Schedules for the Bee Line system in Westchester County, New York.
Mr. Glikin subsequently moved on to MTA New York Transit (NYCT) for a 26-year career which ended in his retirement as Senior Director, Bus Schedules, responsible for the professional staff scheduling 3,800 buses operating on 235 bus routes out of 20 garages. In this position, each year, Mr. Glikin managed reviews of 750 bus schedules, four bus operator run signups, preparation and tracking of an annual $1 billion bus service operating budget, development of cost estimates for bus service changes, training and evaluation of 30 staff schedulers and managers, and implementation of successive upgrades of the HASTUS scheduling software.
